I am looking to purchase Photo Editing Software. I use Microsoft Picture It! and am needing to upgrade. I am looking for your opinions regarding similar software. I am open to other brands .....

Some of the items I am considering:

Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7.0 Anniversary Edition
Picture It! Digital Image Pro 7
Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0

Photosop Elements 2.0 is a great program. Pretty darned robust for the amount of money you pay for it. I have worked with other comparably priced products and Elements is definitely a cut above the rest. To really use it effectively you have to spend some time with it, but basic functionality is fairly easy to master.

I have never really done much photo editing but I was thinking of getting into it. What software does everyone use? This thread is a bit old but I figured there was no reason to create a new one!

The best way to get into photo editing is the free method and see if that's what you really want to do. Google's Picasa is one of the best for your trial end error. Download a free copy here;

Hope that helps :)

I use Paint Shop Pro - Find it a little more friendly than PhotoShop.
