Looking for someone who wants to do a 8-10 mile, moderate AEG, hike in the Prescott or Mogollon Rim areas this Friday, 10/17. Leave Phoenix in time to start hiking by 8:00 a.m., which should have us back in Phoenix NLT 5:00 p.m. Don't care who drives. I just realized I have the day open, and I don't have anything in mind, so ... whatever.

Why not try the Tucson area?

I live north side of Phoenix, and avoid I-10 if at all possible, so it actually takes me less time to get up to Prescott or the Rim, than Tucson. Furtherest south I've hiked is Marana, and then only because my Mom lives there and it was Mothers Day ... :D

Wow, OK, well, right on. Solid.

Dynamite.

Actually, aside from my recent trips to Flagstaff/ the San Francisco Peaks, which were well worth the trip through the Valley, and an expected trip to the Canyon next month, I try to avoid the Valley and 10 west of Marinara, so I can relate.

I figured 10 miles and 2000 AEG. Was dead on the AEG, but nowhere in the ball park on miles (by my crappy Garmin 62S, 13.9 miles). Was not ready for that, but kicked it anyway ...

@kingsnake An extra few miles can be tough after you've already gone ten.
