Map legends and/or tutorials

Where is the explanation for the colors of the section markers? If they correspond to temperature, is there a way to retrieve historical data for a projected plot for November?

My guess is you are looking too deep for meaning. Sometimes colors are just colors. Looks like Joe color coded the sections in the window on the left and then used the corresponding colors on the trail sections to tie them together.

The day Joe found the color palette was like the day a kindergartner gets a box of crayons.
