Rainbow Bridge National Monument Closed for Trail Work Jan 2015

December 24, 2014

Rainbow Bridge National Monument will be closed to the public from January 5, through February 15, 2015 to complete repairs to the trail from Lake Powell. Starting on January 5th, crews will work on segments of the trail damaged in monsoon floods that occurred in late September 2013. Because of the nature of the work, visitors will not be able to access Rainbow Bridge from Lake Powell until the monument re-opens after project completion.

Hikers with permits from Navajo Tribal Parks and Recreation to hike from Navajo Mountain will be able to access the viewing area but not the remaining trail leading to Lake Powell.

Absolutely. The trek from either trailhead is spectacular.
