Sunset Trail on Mt. Lemmon (Tucson)
Hello,
I'll begin by stating that I have hiked very little and have never participated in a forum like this, so please bear with me
I am requesting a little information on the Sunset Trail up on Mt. Lemmon, I believe off of Sky's Knob Street. I am taking a few twelve year old boys and would like to know in advance if the trail loops back to Sky's Knob St. OR if it is clearly marked at the end of the trail, turn around here to head back to your car. I do not want to easily drift on to other trails and be lost. Thanks so much! Shannon (Aug 20, 2015) may hike this Saturday, Aug 22, 2015.

Re: Sunset Trail on Mt. Lemmon (Tucson)
The Sunset Trail doesn't loop, but if you start at the trailhead at Sykes Knob Road (not Sky), then the other end is at the Marshall Gulch picnic area, so you can't miss the turnaround. Good spot for a break, visit the restroom (stinky), before heading back the way you came. It's a nice trail, not too difficult, some great views, rocks for the boys to climb on.
I don't recall any side trails. It may be a bit confusing finding the start of the trail. From the parking lot you walk along a road for a while before getting on the trail. At the Marshall Gulch end, there's not much trail, just walking up the creek bed but you can't lose your way.
