For those of you who are bird-watchers/bird identifiers and who live in Phoenix area - -
The McDowell Sonoran Field Institute has set up 5 new ebird hotspots where people can report species they see on McDowell Sonoran Preserve trails. http://ebird.org/cont... E bird is a real-time, online checklist program administered by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Five eBird hotspots have been designated in MSP:
1. Brown's Ranch Area
2. Gateway Area
3. Granite Mountain Area
4. Lost Dog Area
5. Tom's Thumb Area
When you enter your data on eBird - select the hotspot closest to where you birded - use the comments section to ID the trail you covered.
From the MSFI Bird Principal Investigator Walter Thurber: "Your information will be useful to Preserve managers and visitors, and to a global community of educators, ornithologists and conservation biologists. Any species new to the Preserve bird list should be carefully documented, preferably with a photo, and reported to the Conservancy Office."

Your dedication to the MSP is so amazing to see. It's so awesome that people care as much about the wild as you do. (and I do!)
