Three friends and I are going to Puerto Rico (then the BVI) in October and would like to do a backpack trip or two into the rainforests.
Anyone ever done that or have helpful information to that end. I have heard there are some killer hotsprings, forests, and waterfalls there, but no one seems to know where exactly.
Let me just say that "yes" I do know this is hikeARIZONA.com not HIKEpuertorico.com. Just the same, I was wondering if there is any info out there in the collective HAZ brain pool. Or where would be a good place to find info. I am also aware of the two students that got killed there recently.
Thank you kindly
-Pete

I've been to Puerto Rico (not backpacking) and as long as you can avoid all the people there you should have a great time. I only have city experience with PR and it wasn't all that good. They don't seem to like americans very much there. (except when our tax dollars build their roads, schools and public amenities). But backpacking is backpacking and I don't think I would turn down a trip.
Good luck.
Good luck.
