Found item on trail
Found an item on the AzT. Call 928 474 9898. If thru hiking, I might even deliver it since you will not be too far from my neighborhood.

@heyyou
Probably wouldn't hurt to provide a few clues...
Where it was found on the trail and possibly what type of item was found.

@CannondaleKid
Actually he's pretty smart to do it this way, especially depending on the "Item"....He may get a few Phone Calls, but someone might get lucky and he's actually found what they lost....

Re: Found item on trail
@Outdoor Lover I know what you mean but c'mon, not even a clue on which passage it was found?
If it was a camera or similar expensive item, I would believe only folks who actually lost one in the vicinity would call knowing they would have to provide enough information to verify ownership.
I've lost a hiking pole, a snake hook and a few other items on one segment or another of the AZT, but since the latest was last year and there's a VERY slim likelihood any of those were the 'item' I won't bother to call. But if I knew roughly where a 'piece of hiking equipment' was found for instance, I just may follow up.

Re: Found item on trail
I'd guess somewhere in the 25 to 30 range given where the OP lives. Of course if I had lost an item of any importance I wouldn't consider it a bother to call somebody who posts in a forum informing people he found something.
Seems like a very nice gesture to me! HAZ members are awesome!

Re: Found item on trail
It has now been six weeks. It is an REI synthetic sleeping bag with very thin insulation, found on AzT segment 23a, just south of the Barnhardt Junction.

You will get used to seeing Sleeping Bags out in the Wilderness....I'm not sure why so many people would just go off and abandon Camping Gear like that, but they do....
