About 19 miles from Washington Park to Horton Springs. Another 4 to the Horton TH.

Know that VOAz has been working in that area. They have eliminated a lot of the steeper sections, which is done by rerouting to add horizontal distance. If several hundred yards here and there matters, you may want to get an update. Unfortunately, I don't know how to suggest that other than contact the Payson RD.

@Sredfield
Last year in September i hiked from Pine trail to dude creek RT, my intentions was to make it all the way to horton springs and back but hiking past dude creek the trail was almost non existent and the weeds where almost 3ft tall so decided to turn back, this year in in the begining of May day hiked from Washington park a little past dude creek and noticed the weeds where gone and the trail is visible now or last time i hiked it i got on a elk trail lol, either way in may most likely ill hike Washington Park to Horton Springs and back.

Ps. This last time i day hiked part of the highline trail i wanted to enter from that small trail head east of washington park, i put the gps in my phone but for some reason when i followed the dirt road i came to a gated comunity , where my gps cordinates off or is there a gate with lock there and no entrance.

Do you mean the road that hits just west of Dude Creek? Its accessed taking 195 north from Control Road. I don't know how the condition is but I sure don't think there's any gated community up there. You may turned too early and ended up in Verde Glen or Rim Mountain Estates?

I just hiked the full Highline from 260 to Pine this week and recorded a track as the trail currently stands with reroutes and new switchbacks (the full trail is currently 54 mi, for what it's worth). The cleaned up track shows 21.3 mi between the Washington Park TH and Horton Spring/Horton Creek, or 24.6 mi if taking the Horton Creek Trail back to its trailhead on FR 289.

There is still a large stretch of original, very poor quality tread in that section, so this mileage is time sensitive and as more reroutes are completed, it will continue to grow.

Nice job!
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
