Hiking partner needs a home

Post by Daryl »

A friend of mine just rescued this beautiful guy.

He looks like he may be an austrailian shepard (he has no tail) or border collie (mix?). Either way he'll have lots of energy and be a great hiking partner. He's currently about 40 pounds, and may get a little bigger.

He was found in the middle of Sossaman Road, near Chandler Heights Road, on Monday night. He's a nice dog and wants to lay in your lap and likes lots of attention. So far, he has no bad habits and has ignored the cats. He is young, probably 1-2 years old, but seems to be out of the destructive stage. He was timid around other dogs at first, but he's coming around.

In the pictures, he looks like he has two different color eyes. Really he is blind in one eye. It appears to be an old injury but the eye doesn't seem to bother him at all.

PM me if you're interested in this hiking partner.

I had a Springer Spaniel once. He looks like maybe he could be part Springer. Our Chocolate lab has been gone for 3 months now. We thought we'd wait to get another dog. I think I'll throw this out to the family. See what they think.

I PM'd you, but do you have a cat? if so, how do they get along? I've got an alpha cat who wants everyone to have fun, but not at his expense. He's beautiful and we are interested.

He looks like a great dog, I wish I had the time and space to keep him. He does look like he's got some Springer in him, I've owned four. Besides which, I don't think a full true Border Collie would sit still long enough to take those pictures. Ask the dog/goat master Hooli.

Susan and I are setting up a meeting, hopefully this weekend. We are very excited and very interested. But, like with any adaption, we have to see how everyone gets along.

The dog now known as Gus is still available. I stopped by and got to visit Gus over the weekend and someone will get one heck of a dog. He learns very fast, he got along fine with my two border collies and he leaves cats alone. He's not real playful, he just wants to hang out by your side and have his head patted once and awhile. Once he feels secure again, I'm sure he'll start getting more playful. He bonds to people quickly, so who ever takes him will quickly have a life long friend.
