As you turn off from US 60 and as you come to a pull off on your left is an impressive stone corral in a gully. The site is also the location of a prehistoric village site and bed rock mortars are located in various places in the immediate area. To the west is what appears to be a cleared area. At one time it was a railroad spur from the Magma Railroad. As you drive to the Trailhead you will be on an Old high way segment (US 70). The trailhead is to the left (car accessible) to the right the road (high clearance and has sandy segments) leads to the old mine site community of DeNoon. From DeNoon to the west is the mining community site of Reymert. The old townsite of Pinal City is further to the east and its cemetary is a couple of miles North were Mattie Earp is buried. Enjoy your hike and perhaps a post hike drink at Porters in Superior.
Have a good time out there...that's my favorite piece of AZT (headed southbound from PP). At least, this week its my favorite.
