Hiking section 43-34 late Sept

We understand water is not very reliable on the Kaibab plateau. Two of us are planning to hike from Utah border south sect 43-34 to Flagstaff in late Sept, 2018. Is it practical to source any water on the trail this time of year? Or, do we need to drive the trail and stash water? We are experienced hikers (PCT); hiked sect 1-7 last March; but not from AZ and familiar with climate etc. Terry
