Backpacking along the 191

Post by sajor75 »

Hey everyone, im pondering on taking a motorcycle ride from Phx passing thru the 191 , north bound starting in Morenci to Springerville then making a loop back to Phx, I heard the 191 doesnt have any hotels/motels , I might go for short hikes , are there places along my route where i could set up camp?, preferably close to the road or trail head .

Gobs of places ((campgrounds (some are N/C) or forest roads (always N/C) ). Apache Sitgreaves Forest map or Gazetteer may be of help. Or their website; https://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/asnf/r ... ing-cabins .
Hannagan Meadow has lodging and meals, as does Alpine.

hikeaz covered everything I can think of.

I'm confused why you titled your post backpacking? Unless you mean you use a backpack to carry your stuff on your hog instead of saddlebags?
