Cherry Creek
Hi everyone my dad and uncle ( Tom and Paul Wilson) have the memorial at PB Creek ranch. I was wondering how the flags looked or if they are still there at all. Our family has so many memories of this place it is a special place for our family. I have so many pictures.

Re: Cherry Creek
@Lori76
Many of us on HAZ have good memories of PB Ranch too--> [ PB Ranch/Cabin - Sierra Ancha ]
Not sure if any HAZ Members have been there recently to post updated pictures and to update the status of this special place?

Re: Cherry Creek
Is this discussion devoted solely to Cherry Creek memorial questions and feedback, or can I inquire about another Cherry Creek idea I've cogitated on for years?

Re: Cherry Creek
Since nobody replied one way or the other, I'll ask my question. What would yooz guys think of my idea to mountain bike DOWN Cherry Creek Road from circa Young back to its intersection with AZ-288? Would it be fun, beautiful, and most importantly, relatively easy?

Re: Cherry Creek
It would be beautiful and mostly fun, but I'd probably worry too much the whole way about whether there's a washout around the next bend waiting to wreck me.SAMBA wrote: Would it be fun, beautiful, and most importantly, relatively easy?
ETA: It's interesting to learn more about the history there.

Re: Cherry Creek
What route?
#1. AZ 288 south to Board Tree Saddle then FR 203 down to AZ 288?
#2. FR 54, south to FR 329 and connect to FR 203 just south of Board Tree Saddle?
Having driven Option #2 you'll rack up 55 miles and 4300' AEG as you DESCEND from 5100' to 2300'.
Plenty of fun, beauty, rough & rocky 'roads' with a number of creek crossings thrown in for good measure.
Good luck!

Re: Cherry Creek
Yo my HAZ peeps, I'm feeling a little sheepish about asking yooz guys about Cherry Creek Road? My question would have been more relevant had I posted it six or seven years ago when I was a lot younger and a lot fitter. I mistakenly looked at the CHR profile, and delusionly told myself that all i had to do was feather my brakes for thirty miles, and then struggle the last ten miles completing the ride. The delusion was in convincing myself there never was a day LaFong (aka SAMBA) couldn't bike a stinkin' ten miles. WRONG!!!
