I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

@JimmyLyding
Or more to the point: so what? Lots of Navajos do drugs. Lots. I've seen the UDSs. Meth is about the most common after THC, but Meth is the most likely to make a person psychotic. Still, why should it matter what his race was? Frankly, I don't care about this drug addict, and am far more saddened by someone almost being murdered by his bad choices.

Re: Hikers Attacked At Gateway Trailhead
Good reason to carry a weapon of some kind ( if you are competent and safe with it ). It's not the animals you have to worry about when hiking as much as it is the people unfortunately.

Re: Hikers Attacked At Gateway Trailhead
Competent and safe with a weapon VERY important. On all my hikes near or at or on the other sovereign nation border I've never carried. I could if I wanted. What I was taught is never present your firearm unless you fear for your life or another person's life, and when you do you will use that weapon for fatal results. And be prepared to live with your decisions and consequences.

Re: Hikers Attacked At Gateway Trailhead
Never forget Alston_Neal thinks attempted murder is a perfectly acceptable thing so long as the criminal is a drug addicted Navajo. I hope our members are okay with Alston favoring the guy who might try to murder you, over you and your family.
