Ever wanted to meet Search and Rescue teams (while not needing to be rescued?!)
Join the Pinal County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue (SAR) members and Volunteers on 12/9/23 for a "Saturday with Search and Rescue" day!
We will be gathering at the Lost Goldmine East Trailhead off of Peralta Rd in Gold Canyon from 8am-12pm.
Meet: PCSO SAR Unit Deputies, PCSO SAR Posse Volunteers, PCSO Range Deputies, SAR K9s
See: SAR helicopters, SAR Vehicles
Experience: A staged rescue, where members of the public will get to participate in tracking and recovering an "injured" hiker.
Visit: Hydration Tent, Local hiking outfitter tent
This event is for hiking enthusiasts and beginners alike.
Please wear closed-toe shoes. This event is down a dirt road, but is accessible to all types of vehicles.

"Today wilderness search and rescues calls are primarily handled by county and state helicopters with small support ground teams, but we continue to respond to active and cold cases when requested.
We have grown into a professional and social organization of local volunteers that maintain highly trained skills to be used under the direction of the Apache Junction Police Department."
