"Other way" down from Wind Cave?
I met a couple on the Wind Cave trail who said they'd seen a lot of people pass them on the way up, but didn't see them come back down again and they weren't at the Cave. I continued on up to the Summit, but encountered no-one. Is there an alternate route down from the Cave? I certainly didn't see anything likely.

There are two other ways down, neither of which is a maintained trail, at least not last time I was up there. You can hike the ridgeline heading west, which eventually dumps you out on the west portion of the Pass Mtn Loop and from here you have about a 2.5 miles trek back to the Wind Cave Trailhead. The other is to head down the other side from the summit toward a small saddle and then take the Pass Mtn Loop trail about 3 miles back to the Wind Cave TH. Either way you go it's all off trail and totally exposed.
