Just hiked to the top of the peak with all the electronic junk on it just east of Yuma Foothills today for our Christmas Day hike. I've hiked it before, it's fairly steep, nice views from the top. I've heard it's called Telegraph Pass or Telegraph Peak, and it's in the Gila Mtn. range. In fact I do believe we could see the Sierra San Pedro Martir in north Baja, and the Laguna Mtns. in San Diego County.
It's a fairly popular hike amongst the locals, judging by the two times I've hiked it, saw about 20 people or so.
As always we were struck by the very stark nature of the desert here, very dry, rugged, not a lot of plants.
