looking for GC permits Mem. day

Post by te_wa »

does anyone have extra permit for any trail in the GRAND canyon? Im looking for a hike to do on Memorial Day weekend, ive never hiked there so im not picky.

(but just in case im allowed to be picky, Grandview to New Hance is my 1st- North Kaibab to the south rim is my second) 8)

i'll look into a walk up permit as well.

Your still outside of the 3 week window and can fax in for a permit. I would call the BCO between 1-5pm and talk with a ranger, tell him you want anything, then just fax it in when you hang up the phone. Always worked for me before.

Yep - works (almost) every time! The BCO's # is 928-638-7875

Also, if going NK to the S. Rim, check out Xanterra for dorm opening(s)and/or meal(s) @ Phantom Ranch. (888.297.2757)

spent a short amount of time researching to this conclusion:
first choice is Hance Creek from Grandview then night 2 on Horseshoe mesa and out Grandview.

second choice is Hermit to Boucher for the night, then on to Hermit Creek night 2 and out the Hermit trail.

the mileage is short (for me) but I decided to take it real slow on purpose, to fully experience every step of the way. Fingers crossed!

thanks guys for the info.

Both would be great trips Mike, lots of things to checkout on Horseshoe Mesa, checkout the write-up on Cave of Domes.

Don't compare regular trail miles to Grand Canyon trail miles.

But Dude, whats up with the Avatar?
