Following Verde River?
Looking for a place to start and end while following the Verde River. Are there any trails that stay pretty close/cross/anything with it? Will be an end of March or beginning of April trip. Hopefully around 2-3 days? I've done the Bell Trail, and am willing to cross paths with it, but I don't want to take that specific trail again. Id like to do about 20ish miles if that helps with a destination. Thanks for any input

Re: Following Verde River?
If you haven't seen it, there's a relatively new guide (May 2006) to the Verde River posted at the bottom of the Prescott National Forest homepage.
It includes nice topo maps of the entire route from Beasley Flat to Sheep Bridge.
While it was created for boating the river (not hiking), the descriptions and map do include several trails, river access points, camp spots, and wildlife closure areas.
Definitely worth a look.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Re: Following Verde River?
Awesome, thanks for the good info!
We actually decided it'd be a good time to do the General Crook Trail though, not sure how we are going to arrange the cars. We were hoping to only take one, but if we want to do the whole thing 50miles may be pushing it for 2 days... It can be done though
Probally end up leaving one near Camp Verde and just driving to the other end and starting there.
