Ballantine Cabin, Sunday May 11

I want to take the Ballantine Trail up to Boulder Flat, then to the cabin, then stay on the trail back to Boulder Flat, do the side spur to the south from Boulder Flat to Rock Creek, then back to Ballantine TH. I know its 3.6 miles from the TH to Boulder Flat, and 0.8 miles from Boulder Flat to Rock Creek. This totals 9.8 without the hike up to the cabin, which probably adds at least another 2 miles RT. Last killer hike before the heat becomes restrictive.

This one's going to be pretty warm. I got to the next level above Boulder Flat a few months ago, and there wasn't a lick of shade. I would go, but I'm going to be out of town. This is a great hike, however.

I'm doing AB Young tomorrow in Oak Creek Canyon, and I can't do anything on Sunday because I have to pick my mom up from the airport. 4 Peaks is definitely on my list, but I can't pull it off.

Looks like the real heat will wait another week or so. This one may not be too bad.

I was noticing that. I hope it lasts another 2 weeks for the 4Peaks hike, but I'll take this for now.
