I am looking to do an overnighter (or maybe a 2 nighter) this weekend (5/24/08-5/26/08) at the Tonto Narrows. I have never been to this area and it sounds like a blast.

I did the trip from Hellsgate down over Memorial Day weekend a few years ago. The trip up over 2 nights would be a blast as well. Keep a lookout at the forecast as it is calling for some rain possibly. Could be a big flood area with rains. Otherwise enjoy!

Thanks for the info and heads up on the weather. I have been reading the write-up by Joe Bartels, but had not seen Matt's.
I am watching the forecast and will make a final decision a little closer to the weekend. I may have to push it off to another weekend. I was thinking about heading back around the "waterfall" (Soldier Camp Creek) area to set up camp. Has anyone else camped in this area that could provide any feedback?
