I just spoke with Gila NF in Glenwood, NMex. The backcountry is now closed except for several specific large campgrounds. So much for a four day 4th hike....
Manti-LaSal is still open in eastern Utah (Moab and Monticello areas, LaSal and Abajo Mtns) but they caution that all usual water sources are dry with no snow left on the 12k peaks there....-Randy
