Mazatzal Divide/North Peak Shuttle Sunday Mar. 22
This is in the mid to north Mazzys west of Payson. The total distance is 12.2 miles. I plan to leave a car at the City Creek TH and then drive to the Mineral Creek TH off of FR414 and hike back to City Creek. Take the North Peak Trail to the Mazatzal Divide Trail and head north. According to my mapping software, doing it in this direction creates an AEG of 1245', as opposed to 4000+' AEG in the other direction. (Ain't technology great?) Who's in (Wally)? The Steelermobile leaves my house at 5:30am.

I'll be ready. That Steelermobile sure gets up early. Of course it will be warmer in March already so I guess that's a good thing.

Re: Mazatzal Divide/North Peak Shuttle Sunday Mar. 22
There's gain as in difference from lowest to highest point, and then accumulated climbing elevation, which means if you hike down 200' and go back up you count it again. Seems like in the other direction there's alot of that.
I figure to wake up early since it will take a little extra time to drop a car off and drive to the other TH.

Just a note to my desert friends. The Doll Baby road that goes West out of Payson on Main street has construction on it Mondays through Fridays 8am to 3pm up to two hour clousures and this will go on until November 09. Sorry I can't make this hike it sounds like a good one. I will be thinnning cedar in Texas for two weeks.
