Hey guys and gals,
I recently have decided to get back into shape ( a desk job put me out of shape) and have been wanting to get back into hiking. I am and was a beginner when I was hiking, but I have set a goal for myself to hike and summit Mt. Rainier and Mt. McKinely at some point in the next couple years. I need your guys help by giving me hikes (day or Multi-day) that would help me get back into hiking and prepare me to achive my goals. I'm navtive to Az and up till last year never really experenced snow (sad I know) which means I have never had a real snow/ winter hike. Anything would be helpful and as of yet I still don't have a partner so I'm looking for more of the popular trails till I find someone to hike with. Thanks for all your help guys...

Traildex is the perfect tool for this.

Put in the region, the distance and the AEG that you want and you will get lots of options. You can sort by ranking. Play with it a little bit.
Watch for posted events and sign up.

Agree. Would also encourage looking for trails for a while with a route finding number of 2 or less, particularly if you do go alone and don't have good map/compass and GPS skills

I had forgotten about the traildex (don't know how I did). With regards to the compass/ map work, does anyone know a place other than REI that offers classes on it? I would go to REI's but they seem to always fall on days I work. Thanks again guys, I can't wait to get back into hiking/ climbing...

if i remember right, REI does do a more extensive paid class on saturdays with compass & map
