In my view it's in the middle of nowhere. It's the Junction of Hwy 64 and Hwy 180. 30 miles to GC, 30 miles to Williams and 45 miles to the Snowbowl. There's a Hotel, Trading Post, Gas Station, Restaurant. The highlight is Bedrock - the home of Fred Flintstone - 1950's Highways kitsch. An Airport and a Aviation Museum. It's flat plain around there. No hiking trails but pretty country for Elk and Pronghorn. The nearest hiking is probably Red Butte. But you might as well go to the Grand Canyon.

Stay in Williams, Flag, or Tusayan instead. Valle is a pit.

Red Butte would be your closest hiking. Was just up there a couple of week ago and bushwhacked up Red Butte. Some decent views but thats about it. very short, not too strenuous. I would also recommend Tusayan instead.
