LaBarge Box...Will I make it?
Or, will last week's rains pose an obstacle to even getting there? I've been wanting to do this as a hike to the Lower Box then return via Boulder Canyon. If LaBarge doesn't sound like a good plan, any other recommendations for a good hike in the Supes. I've conquered some of the climbs like Flatiron, North Peak, Hiero to Ridgeline. Looking for more of a lowlands venture, perhaps a canyon or other low desert hike with a cool destination. Target 8-10 miles. Hike day is Jan 30.
This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.

Re: LaBarge Box...Will I make it?
Personally, I prefer LaBarge Box via First Water TH. Second Water to Boulder Canyon, upstream boulder canyon to hike over the saddle south of Battleship Mountain. To make it the ultimate trip, climb Battleship Mountain on your way there, at least to the lower level.
To answer your question, it's doable. Just expect to get your feet wet on some of the Boulder Canyon creek crossings.

Re: LaBarge Box...Will I make it?
Great suggestion. We ended up doing this hike from First Water TH. Second Water across Boulder Canyon and boulder hopped up La Barge to the Box. We came back via the saddle to Boulder Creek and on our way back up Second Water we caught the north end of Hackberry Springs Loop. An 8 hour adventure in all, and I loved every minute of it.azpride wrote:Personally, I prefer LaBarge Box via First Water TH.
