Pass Mtn Ridgeline

Post by RickVincent »

If there is a trail going down from the North peak on this hike, I certainly wasn't on it. Still, it was a fun hike. I think I'll try to find a new way down though. Instead of going down the East slope (default route), I'm going to try and continue north down the ridge which then turns slightly west until it reaches the Pass Mtn Loop trail.
This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.

Ted Tenney's Goldfields guide also sends you down the slope on the east which I found to be a steep bushwhack without a trail
I agree that it was a fun and very seldom hiked route

After some Google Earth research, it looks like there may be signs of a lightly worn trail that leads down the north ridge. Would shorten the trip by about a mile and might lose the bushwack. I will report back after my next opportunity to do this hike.

I have been down the east-ish route (right around the 3312 peak) as well as the north route (which is really a bit northWEST); the north route is gobs easier.
