Boulder/LaBarge water?

Post by mr_squishy »

I'm headed into the Battleship Mtn, Squaw Creek area and wondered if water is available in either stream. I saw on the news that rainfall is .8 below normal; I've found water in these streams the past three years at this time, but I think there had been more rain. Anyway, thanks for any info you can give me.

I was out in Boulder Creek along Battleship last weekend and yes there is some water. Most of it was in pools and had some green showing. It was definitely drinkable if treated. And I was in La Barge Box about a three weeks ago. Again there is some water in there. There were at least two very large pools that you need to scramble around. That water looked perfect for drinking...after treating of course.

Here's one of my pics from last weekend. This is on the Boulder Canyon Trail half way between Cavalry and Lost Dutchman.

Looks good - though definitely lower than previous years at this time - both streams have been running when I've been there in past Februarys. At least I don't have to hump water in...... Thanks for the update!

Lots of green stuff in Boulder Canyon today but definitely some areas flowing a little and filterable. :)
