Mount Lemmon via Catalina State Park 6/3/12

Post by Dave1 »

Start the month off right with some respectable elevation gain! Meet at 5am, Sunday June 3rd at Catalina State Park, Romero Canyon TH. The starting temps should be about mid 60s and the high temp on top of Mt Lemmon should be in the low 70s. It will probably get warm on our descent (approaching 100) so be mentally and physically prepared for that part. For more details, just show up and do the hike! :y:

Nice. Be prepared to get toasted when you get below Romero Pass on descent!

Wish I could go. I had to cancel my Canyon Hike as my foot puncture still isn't completely healed, and I am questioning Elden today. This is a great hike, as you know. You must be planning to go up and down the same way. I recommend that. I would probably go slower than you, but I am doing the minimal thing, and I liked enjoying the hike a little more. Slower down, anyway, not so much up, I would hope.

Very well, thanks! I'm a little slow getting up the triplog though. It wasn't really hot until the descent near or a bit before Romero Pools. I was actually a little chilly when I was at the top, as it was breezy (but not HPP kind of breezy, unfortunately).
