". . . we have developed a proof of concept and [are] currently creating our first fully functional prototype. We think our first prototype will collect anywhere from half a liter of water to three liters per hour depending on local environments.”
He goes on to explain, “We take the ambiant air from the environment. So you can put this in your backyard per say, and what it would do is it would take the air in your backyard and start pushing it through our device and from this the materials will actually collect the condensation, or the moisture, from the air due to the relative humidity that naturally occurs in the air everywhere.”

Technology and self-filling canteens
Ain't technology wonderful.
These kids watched a desert beetle collect water and are developing a new idea. Water from air. Probably won't see these in my lifetime. http://kitup.military.com/2012/12/self- ... teens.html

I have a device in my basement that does that. However, it weighs a ton and uses aAl_HikesAZ wrote: Water from air

But this is meant to do it in a dry desert environment, not a hot, humid NJ basement. I lived in Toms River, I remember those dehumidifiers.big_load wrote:I have a device in my basement that does that. However, it weighs a ton and uses aAl_HikesAZ wrote: Water from airload of electricity.

I really enjoyed seeing that for the first time. It sure beats the way that area used to look.Alston Neal wrote:Oh so that's the "art" we have in downtown Phoenix....

On the original topic, I picture a huge array of trained desert beetles, trained to sacrifice their hard-earned water on demand.
