I'm sitting on my lazy gimpy butt right now with not much else to do but DREAM about hiking so I've set myself up with a glorious plan.
January 1st is a Tuesday, and we all know how much I love hiking late on weekdays
After work on this fateful Tuesday I'll set out for the Supes and galavant to the top of Flat Iron to ring in the New Year, hopefully watch the sun set and the barely less than Full Moon rise and to celebrate the restored strength of my right foot.
What better way than a short, leisurely stroll up Flat Iron?!
I do hope you'll join me, I can't imagine the trail will have many people on it...on a Tuesday afternoon/evening/night...plus this little Hippy shouldn't hike the Supes alone...I might never come back to the city.
Edit: Green type!

@Tough_Boots I'm almost positive I'll be working at 5am on New Years Day... so I probably can't party too late....but to answer Vince's question, if I work as early as I've requested to work that day I plan on leaving Phoenix between 2 and 4pm, depending also, of course, on those who occupy the vehicle with me or plan on meeting me at the TH.
waaaaait wait wait...you roll your ankle and you're hiking again this month, it's only been like a week for you boy, you better wrap that up if you go out...at least I have my mutli million dollar ankle brace to keep me standing straight
don't hurt yourself otherwise I'll be doing flat iron alone, I doubt anyone will be crazy enough to join me that day
bad idea DB!!! Why don't you chill out for a while, pull a gimpy hippy card and start drinking away your lack-of-hiking depression ;)
Patrick, hope you join us!!!
awww DB, ok you can pull the other gimpy hippy card and eat yourself out of a no-hiking depression.
Seriously though....you, me, a HUGE bowl of coconut ice cream and dark chocolate covered raisins...MMmmmm
Okay back to reality. I'm planning on getting atop Flatiron and watching the sunset, i think the first sun set of 2013 should be viewed from somewhere you love and I happen to love flatiron lately, maybe because it's a crotchity old hike, maybe because i finally got to plan with a tarantula this year up there, maybe because i tore up that trail like it was nobody's business last time...
