easy-ish superstitions day hike?

Post by kbunny »

Hey Everyone! We have one free day tomorrow after our whirlwind xmas visit to Phoenix, and I'm hoping to get a hike in! But my ankle tendonitis is acting up, so I need something fairly level. Nonetheless, I really want to visit my beloved Superstitions! Any suggestions for a mellow day hike? Already done Hieroglyphic Canyon, and the trail that goes from that same trailhead to Peralta.

Hope everyone is enjoying some great holiday hiking in this lovely cool weather!

Hackberry Spring Loop might be a good one. There's a little up and down, but it's not bad at all and Garden Valley is about as level as it gets.... :) http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=539
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

First water trail would be perfect! A very nice stroll, you can take it to the summit where you have breathtaking views of the valleys and Weaver's Needle. Take the Canyon Lake road and go just past the Lost Dutchman park to the signed First Water Trailhead road. That's where you would pick up Hackberry too.
