These morons are all over the news!! And I've been stewing about it all day. These two need to be publicly expelled from the Boy Scouts and banned from public lands. The worst part of the whole thing is, they thought they were TEACHING children a lesson YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING!! UNREAL!!!
P.s. - Thank you for posting this. You beat me to it. ;)
“ you know what I think?... It doesn’t matter what I think”
@Bradshaws
No, the lesson is not to Videotape yourself doing something moronic, stupid and illegal....Justifying it for safety reasons....How stupid does he think people are??? All the Kids will remember is how fun that was, jumping around on formations and knocking them down....
Lifeis not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming,"Wow What a Ride!"
It looked like the boulder could just as easily have rocked and pinned him between the two boulders... Now THAT would have been a real life (or death) lesson!
And the video likely would have garnered even more hits.
I have a differing opinion, based on my experience with so many of the highest caliber members of our society. It seems to me that these were not the brightest people, as their gleeful and non-malicious tone demonstrates, and that they were in fact attempting to "help out" their fellow man. Rocks erode, and time passes, adipose accumulates, and soon they will be dead. Until then, the particular individual might have inadvertently done the same thing, had he been strolling causally through the park and become winded, light headed, dizzy and then suddenly found himself unable to stand under his own power, he rocked gently from side to side, staggering about like a drunk, gradually becoming more erratic in his movements, so eventually the full weight of his body was swaying back and forth like a pendulum, until he smashed face first in to the rock, knocking it off it's 70 million year old perch and onto the ground. Had that been the case, we might instead be writing about another stupid hiker who needed to be rescued after passing out from extreme exhaustion. At least in this case, we know he wasn't a hiker.
Boy Scouts are a menace - or at least the "leaders". They also burned down a Ranger cabin and destroyed an Arch site in Utah recently ... that one is not on the news.
