According to the Flagstaff NWS, and this excites me. Not just because I'm already tired of rain and humidity, but because if it pans out, a trip to Flag might be in order. Not just to feed an OCD obsession with rounding out summits on a certain summit, but becuase I like it.Chances for showers will be near zero
through at least the next seven days, after today.
Who wants to join me for Humphrey Summit #100? No one? aw shucks.

The 15 day forecast looks devoid of moisture as well, even with a warming trend! I might actually get some sort of warm, dry summer. Very exciting. Sure beats a mid day 57 degree miserable monsoonal day, such as we had last week. We had some rain, and I doubt it will shut off completely, but I could stand to have a summer like we had, like Flagstaff had in 2009, which was a near complete monsoon failure. Had some very brief bursts, but it was mostly dry that summer. Loved it! Had freak low pressure rain in May or June, and that kept our fire danger down until later summer. Good times, good times. I would love to have a dry warm weekend in 2 weeks, maybe do something fun with no storm chance.

It was outrageously gorgeous yesterday. I drove a bus on Lake Mary road back and forth numerous times between Mormon Lake and Lake Mary, shuttling camp kids. Every time, from early morning to mid afternoon, as I headed back north toward Lake Mary, the views of the Peaks and surrounding area were crystal clear. From that vantage point I could very clearly see details on the rugged dacitic cliffs of Mount Elden. It would have been a great day for a hike but I was working. At least I had a very fun job that day.

Yeah, I enjoy this weather about 1000 times more than I ever might not hate typical muggy, oppressive, and rainy monsoon weather. If Trump could build a wall 50,000' high to keep that down in Mexico, then I would vote for him.

--per the Flagstaff NWS. If it does last to mid-July, that would be awesome! Hopefully it does, and then I can take a trip to the Canyon and camp south of Tusayan.Our confidence in this dry pattern remains high into the first
half of next week. There is a fair chance this dry break in the
otherwise wet Monsoon pattern will last through at least mid July.

We havnt seen a drop of rain in the last week and a half. Starting tomorrow there is a week straight of 60%+ thunderstorms/rain forecasted.
Sad because now we will have to play by the rules when going above treeline and we will probably be chased off passes and ridgelines. Good because of the fires.

It's back....the dew point is up. I guess the northern watersheds need it, as it looks dry up there. Got to keep that soil moist so we get an average yield of run off next season. ;) Daddy needs to flood irrigate his lawn.
