Bitter Delaware North, after losing the concessionaire contract to Aramark, sued claiming that they owned the names.
In the end, the move paid off as they will pocket $12 million for Yosemite to continue to use "Curry Village" "Ahwahnee Hotel" "Wawona Hotel" and "Badger Pass".
The payment is split between the NPS and the new concessionaire. The settlement at least fixes the problem in the future. At the end of the next concessionaire contract, the names revert to the NPS permanently.
I wonder who owns the naming rights to "El Tovar".
