Roosevelt Lake in January
Hi, My husband and I plan on camping at Roosevelt lake mid January. We will be in an RV since it's so cold. We have been section hiking the AZT and wondering what a good 10-12 mile round trip (could be an out and back) would be. We want to cover as much of the AZT as possible. we could also arrange a shuttle if there is a good pickup place. any suggestions on which way we go from Vineyard Trailhead? Maybe start somewhere else? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

Four Peaks (Passage #20) northbound from Vineyard is excellent. The [ Mills Ridge Trailhead :: map ] would be a possible shuttle and/or starting point for out-and-back hikes. [ Oak Flat Trail #123 ] also allows access to the northern end of the passage. High clearance vehicle probably needed for both approaches.
