HAZ Jeep Posse
I notice a lot of folks here have jeeps. We should start the HAZ Jeep Posse.

I'll never forget the service manager at Earnhart's , as he was chastising me for getting my new Grand Cherokee so dirty; I lead him gently to the emblem on the hood, brushed it off, and said: "It's a Jeep, That's What They're For!"

True, but most owners of a jeep will never get their vehicle anywhere near a dirt road.Snick33 wrote: "It's a Jeep, That's What They're For!"
It's the SUV as a Minivan approach - they're cooler, but rarely used for anything a minivan can't be used for.
Like anyone ever actually takes a Lincon Navigator offroad.....

OOOOOHHH!
A friend of mine had a 1946 Navy CJ2A in her garage that I wanted. It still had the original paint with all the navy markings. Identical to the ones in the Pear Harbor movie. It needed a ton of work, but it ran well and she used it around her farm regularly. It even still had the removable hard top, two peice rims, military issue tires...!
When I have room to work on another one, I want a 40s or 50s flat fender to restore to mostly stock.

We have 2 jeeps also. Our only 2 cars. A 1996 Cherokee with 325,000 miles on it and a 1994 Wrangler. We let the pros do it all. My husband used to change the oil but not now.....It is easier to have it done.

A Jeep posse eh . . . . . . . . . Ah the lawlessness of it all; harassing “John Law”, chasing innocent civilians out of the choicest camping spots, matching leather jackets that say “Eat My Jeep” on them, our worried spouses stopping us at the doorway, pleading with us to stay home, I can hear the finger snapping from Westside Story in the background: :The Jeeps The Jeeps The Jeeps. Yea, lets do it!

As long as nobody starts singing "I feel pretty...Oh, so pretty..." while they're wearing their leather jackets, then society will remain relatively sane.Snick33 wrote: I can hear the finger snapping from Westside Story in the background: :The Jeeps The Jeeps The Jeeps.

I'm only 183
.
But I'm working on it!
I don't think they appreciate the real "character" of my truck though...
*Custom bucket seats salvaged from a pinto.
*Partial rattle-can paintjob.
*Custom "no grill" look.
*Dual full-size spare tires complete with "Oh-feces" box (if you have cause to say "oh-feces" I probably have something in the box for that).
*Custom molded rubber floor replacement for carpet. To simplify the process of hosing it out (there were a few instances of partial emersion to justify this one
).
I mean, come on, where were the check boxes for those things

I'm in- I have a 92 wrangler and a cherokee- the "daily driver". My wrangler has been on the Rubicon trail, Los Coyotes north of San Diego and Charlou Gap in Tucson. It has done well. It gets me to any trailhead wet or dry. However do not drive Cottonwood Canyon Road near the WhiteHouse trailhead at Paria Canyon when it is wet - it is impassable and they are not kidding. My Jeep is scratched, dented, the body is warped and it keeps on ticking. Rememer - Jeep- stand for Just Empty Every Pocket. The best trail accesories- spare gas can carrier for remote trips and a 9000lb Warn winch.
Oh yeah my score is 341.
