This weekend a friend and I are were planning to do some backpacking in the Superior-Miami area, but since Tonto has locked down with fire restrictions, the interest is pretty much gone in that area.
Some further reading suggests that Coronado MIGHT be under similar restrictions currently, but that going north, Coconino, etc. might avoid that issue. (I mean really, what the heck is camping without a campfire anyway? hehe.)
That said, the closer to town the better, and car-accessible would be a real plus, but given the right type of location both of those desires can be bent. Just looking for a Saturday-Sunday overnighter, perhaps 10 miles each way as far as the hiking goes, and reliable water.
Looking for a nice weekender
