Found this video on Facebook and thought it might be of interest to anyone along the river's banks. It shows a Diesel tank floating down the swollen river and heading for a bridge further downstream

Time to get out the boat and head for San Carlos! It's up 10 feet this month, and it seems safe that it will be able to hold it all. Just 103-feet to go to reach the spillway!

For a better perspective on that, the capacity has more than doubled from about 2% full to almost 5% full. (Increasing by 10,000 acre-feet in just the last two days).

This reservoir has a water catchement area of nearly 13,000 square miles (larger than Massachusetts).

It was last 100% full in 1995. It was last 50% full in 2005. It has not been above 3% for the last two years.

At the current flow of about 10,000cfs at Calva, about 780 acre-feet of water is draining into the San Carlos every hour.

Even if it were to keep that flow rate for 24-hours, it would result in under 20,000 acre-feet additional into the reservoir. Since flood events taper down quite slowly, I'd expect the reservoir to rise somewhere near 10% of it's full 880,000 acre-feet capacity.

Brian has a close friend who has a ranch on the Blue River for many years. He emailed him and said worst in 100 years, lost a shed and some stuff he said is now probably in Duncan, parked suburban with 3 inches of mud inside and took most of their sprinkler pipe and knocked over a propane tank. Sounds like a new work project for Brian---
