Cave Creek #4 to Spur Cross TH, AZ :: Hammock & Water

I would like to do Cave Creek #4 and the skunk creek trail for an overnight backpacking trip. My question, are there places along cave creek preferably 4-5 miles in from the trailhead that I could string a hammock, or will i need to pack a tent? Also, does anyone know if there will be water available in the creek? I know I will have to filter, but making sure I don't need to pack all of my water. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I think you would be able to find a place near the creek to string a hammock, though there are not huge trees and you may have to make due with some smaller scrubby trees. The creek should have water that you can filter along the portion of cave creek that parallels Skunk Tank.
