I used my GPS (&Topo) going from the Meridian TH and got more distance but less AEG. I was bummed by the rain and saw a break in the clouds so I grabbed what I needed and hit the nearest trail. It started out sunny and then about half way around it the clouds moved in and it started to sprinkle. Next a full on rain was coming down and I wished I brought my rain jacket. After another 20 minutes I saw a rainbow and the sky opened up and I finished up in he sunshine. I was planning on a nice slow hike but the rain was very motivating.
