| partners | | A weekend with friends in Silver City included some hiking. The main hike was Tadpole Ridge, which we did as a car shuttle. Left a car at the Highway 15 trailhead and drove over to the western trailhead at Sheep Corral to start. The first half of the hike was the best in my opinion, as we climbed out of the drainage and up to the main ridgeline. We took a lunch break at Tadpole Lake, then proceeded to follow the long narrow ridge for miles. It was a very warm day in mid-summer, so we were all pretty well zapped of energy when we finished (the monsoon sort of let us down that day). There are some really nice sections along the way with good views out. Also, at times you are hiking on the north side of the ridge under the shade of trees, which helped us on this warm day. The eastern trailhead along Highway 15 is directly across the road from the trail to Signal Peak, which we did the previous day. |
