Rained off and on all night. The forecast was 80% chance of rain.
The drive in seemed to be setting up perfect. A fierce thunderstorm was letting loose right over the area and the adrenaline started kicking in!
Headed out onto a soaked trail. Several 5-10 foot stretches were shallow pools on the trail. Runoff water was coming down in several areas with tiny cascades.
Found the turnoff easily and headed up FWC. It simply didn't pan out. The creek is so bone dry it probably needs a solid day of rain to get it running.
(2.3 miles) Reached Fritzski's "Slip n Slide" waterfall, which is pretty cool. The sun made a bold appearance and I decided to try this route another day when the humidity wasn't setting records |
