| no partners | | Yes, this was my first trip to Tonto Natural Bridge. I'm just not normally into sightseeing tourist trap places that require a fee to get in. Anyway, I hiked in with my girl, Anna, from the Pine Trail near the first parking lot. We boulder hopped our way down past a beautiful waterfall which was more like a hanging garden. As we continued on, we soon came upon this awesome cave-like structure (the bridge). It is a great site and the low angle sun and gentle breeze were creating fantastic formations of the waterfall coming over the other end. They call this a strenuous hike, but really not so much for "hikers." For the typical out of shape tourist, yes, this could definitely be a tough climb out of the canyon. I saw one rather large woman hunched over, sitting at a picnic table with hands on knees, face red, breathing heavily and drooling/spitting on the ground. She was a mess after the 200-300 foot stair climb up the waterfall trail. |

This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee. |
