ABC - Group
Led a trip for ABC up Romero Canyon on this fine, fine weekend. Great group of people. Stopped for a snack at the Pools and explored a little before continuing up the canyon. I think I might do a quick trip to one of the many creekside camps along the trail by myself when I just have to get away. We dropped our packs at the Old Trail Camp about 5ish miles in and trekked on up to the pass. No problems trail finding. It was totally calm at the pass so we sat and soaked in the sun and the views. There was a little bit of snow left at the top of the canyon, but none at the pass. Got back to camp and enjoyed our dinners next to the nicely flowing stream. One guy got into some poison ivy, not bad though. There was more dayhiker and backpacker trail traffic than in the spring when I camped there, though everyone was friendly. Broke camp about 9 on Sunday morning and quickly headed back to the Pools to soak our feet in the very chilly water. There was definitely more water flow that I had expected. Very nice to see. Got back to the TH about 12:30.
