| no partners | | With the Salt River being so low right now, I decided to start from Water Users Rec Area. It's way more convenient than starting at Blue Point. The only drawback being that you're forced to take a break after only five minutes of hiking to dry your feet. That gave me time to search out a route.
The arch is clearly evident in the morning sun, but it's tough to pinpoint the rest of the day. I guess that's why it's called Sunrise Arch. The ascent is steep but short and views are nice in all directions. Not much fauna other than a heron and some coots in the water. I did see a small snake dart past me at the arch. Probably a good reminder that I should put these off-trail hikes on hold now that it's getting warmer. |
