Mark, Katie, and I drove up to the top of Mt Lemmon on Saturday with every intention of summiting Samaniego Peak. Even with a good GPS track, the off-trail scramble became too difficult and an "easy" route to the peak didn't seem appear among the thick manzanitas. We decided to call it less than a half mile to the top, and just enjoy the rest of our hike.
