This one was a long time coming. It was almost 20 years ago that JR attempted this hike with small children and had to turn back. Not so today! The trail was covered in a lot of shade in the morning, both from the trees and the canyon itself. The upper reaches of the trail are along solid rock, with no trees. Some of it looks like a sidewalk: swept clean and white, and lined with pebbles on both sides. My favorite view was not from the Fremont Saddle, but on top of the ridge on the way to the Weavers Needle overlook.
