, then we saw a speedy little snake, that was such a flash across the road we couldn't identify it. We saw one more snake that was dead, looked to me like it was a small gopher snake. It looked like it had actually been stepped on by a cow, because there were no other vehicle marks in the road where we were. It was laying in a cow track. We saw coveys of quail everywhere, Western Tanagers, etc. It was a great day, we were back home by around 2:30 because it got hot!
